Public hiking/walking trails are located at the Leslie M. Frost Centre, Snowdon Park, Stanhope Township, Sherborne Township, Glebe Park, Minden Whitewater Preserve, Minden and Silent Lake Provincial Park. Privately owned trails include the Haliburton Forest and Wild Life Reserve and Moose Woods Recreational Trails. These require day passes.

The Haliburton County Rail Trail is a multi-use trail and runs 33 km from the village of Haliburton to just north of Kinmount, where it crosses into Victoria County and continues south another 55 km to the town of Lindsay. Whether you hike, bike or snowmobile, there are many opportunities for viewing wildlife and incredible scenery, including Ritchie Falls, wetland areas, and fantastic rock outcroppings. East side of County Road 1, just south of the junction with Highway 121. Please note for your safety that the trail is used exclusively for snowmobiling in the winter.
